Mark’s passion for problem solving and creativity has been evident from a young age. After completing his engineering studies at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia, Mark’s technical knowledge in material properties and 3D design was integrated into Calces watches, which he founded.
Mark’s professional career began as a Civil Engineer, where he honed his problem solving and project management skills. However, his love for mechanical watches grew as he combined his artistic creativity with fine, micro-sized engineering.
As a long-time collector of mechanical watches, Mark felt that there was always something lacking in each of his timepiece collections. He began assembling homemade mechanical watches using parts sourced online, creating dozens of custom watches for himself and close relatives.
Still unsatisfied with the level of creative customizations available, Mark began designing his own watches using 3D software. He was determined to express himself more freely and stand out from the pack.
Now, with his own line of unique and innovative watches, Mark is excited to bring new life into the traditional industry of watchmaking.
